3. it is everyone's responsibility to report any concerns about abuse to the Club's Child and Adult Protection Officer and that person's responsibility to report any suspected abuse to the relevant authorities and to support them in the conduct of any resultant investigations;
4. all incidents of alleged poor practice, misconduct and abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately;
5. personal data will be processed in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Human Rights Act 1998.

8. similarly, permission will be sought beforehand from parents or guardians prior to the taking of photographs or videos of their children;
9. an accident and injury log book will be kept by the Club Club Manager and information on any accident or incident occurring during the coaching of young people or their supervised play on the Course will be entered as appropriate;
10. the transport of children to and from events will be carried out in accordance with the Scottish Golf Union's guidance on this matter.

St Fillans Golf Club will promote the following good practice guidelines to its Members who are involved in work with children:

1. make golf fun and enjoyable;
2. promote fair play;
3. always work in an open environment - e.g. avoid private or unobserved situations and encourage an open environment for activities;
4. treat all children equally, with respect and dignity;
5. put the welfare of each child first before winning, or achieving goals;
6. be an excellent role model, including not smoking or drinking alcohol in the company of children;
7. give enthusiastic and constructive feedback rather than negative criticism;
8. ensure that if any form of manual or physical support is required for a child, it is provided openly, the child is informed of what is being done and their consent is obtained;
9. involve parents, guardians and carers wherever possible;
10. build balanced relationships based on mutual trust that empower children to share in the decision-making process;
11. recognise the developmental needs and capacity of children, avoid excessive training or competition and either pushing them against their will or putting undue pressure on them.
